Micropoem

The Nightmare - John Henry Fuseli

Awake, and into the night

shadows twisted, deformed.

I stumble, yawning

Micropoem

Shadows lurk

above concrete walls

Below them, bloodied rags

bear testament, ripped and torn,

to the lion’s hunger,

sated.

Albrecht Dürer, c 1520
