Fall Down Dead

The first time I saw I knew.

She had been here.

But not for long.

Rip. Claw. Tear.

The first time I saw her I knew her.

Now she was gone.

Rope, wrap. Choke, slash.

Fall down dead.

Written for this week’s Trifecta Writing Challenge prompt, which was to write 33 words, all one syllable. Oh, and we needed to use five words the Trifectans supplied: The first time I saw.

I also used the Friday Fictioneers’ picture prompt, which is probably too lovely a scene to deserve a story like this. But that’s what happens. Comments and criticism always welcome!

  1. Many others were inspired to write dark stories too. This a good piece of writing.

  2. This is definitely dark and I fall down all the time. Nan

  3. A vivid piece of writing, especially given the restrictions posed by the one-syllable worlds. Nicely done!

  4. Dear Chris,

    Dark, grisly and well written.

    Shalom,

    Rochelle

  5. Nice way to write a nasty death.

    Chilling work.
