Siege Lifted


It stood above us – gaunt, sinister, grey. The cold stone tower: oppression.

It took an age, but our vengeance was quenched – a stone finger erected toward London.

Now we’ve a tower, trapping tourists.

A 33 word story written for Trifextra this weekend, who challenged us to write a story in which we were challenged to “Give us 33 words (exactly) that tell us three different uses for one object. But don’t just tell us that a can opener can be used to 1) open cans, 2) open beer bottles and 3) break a window in case of a fire.” I think I accomplished that, what do you think?

I also managed to sneak in one of the BeKindRewrite prompts: I’ve got a tower, kind of…
